An installation of timber doors and windows for a newly built pool house within the grounds of a large private property in Puttenham, Surrey.

Premium Timber Windows designed, manufactured and installed a comprehensive package of timber bifold doors, French doors, single doors and a casement window, creating a warm, light-filled pool house suitable for all seasons.
Key Project Details

The Challenge
This project involved the construction of a new pool house set within the garden of a large residential property. The client wanted the building to feel open and connected to the surrounding landscape, requiring a high proportion of glazing across multiple elevations.
At the same time, the pool house needed to remain warm and comfortable throughout the year, allowing it to be used for swimming regardless of the season. Balancing large glazed openings with thermal efficiency was the key challenge.

Glazing & Frame Specification
All timber doors and windows were fitted with modern double glazing, selected to provide strong thermal performance across the extensive glazed areas. This specification helps retain heat within the building, making the pool house suitable for year-round use.
Timber frames were finished with a durable microporous paint system, allowing the timber to breathe while protecting it from moisture, humidity and temperature variation, particularly important in a pool environment.

Installation was completed over seven days by a three-person crew, with work carefully coordinated alongside the wider construction programme.
Each door set and window was installed, aligned and sealed to ensure smooth operation, airtightness and visual consistency. Final checks were carried out to confirm correct functionality and a high-quality finish throughout the building.
The Results
The completed installation delivered a warm, thermally efficient pool house with extensive glazing and strong visual connection to the surrounding garden. Internally, the space remains comfortable throughout the year, allowing the pool to be used in all seasons.
The large bifold and French door openings provide flexibility, enabling the building to open up fully during warmer weather while maintaining excellent insulation when closed.
